| Friday November 30, 5:05 p.m. Central Time SOURCE: Diversified Networks American Diabetes Association Pursues Telecommunications SavingsDiffServ Queue Management and Protocol Priority Queuing Perform Traffic Shaping In VoFR Wan NetworkCHANHASSEN--Nov. 30,
2001--Diversified Networks (Privately Held) announced the successful
completion of Proof-of-Concept and Pilot Testing for the backbone network
for American Diabetes Association (ADA).
This successful test completion defines the solution to be rolled
out to all ADA Remote, Regional and Central Sites.
The ROI on the completed project is estimated to be less than one
year. The Diversified Network’s
solution involves Nortel Network’s ASN, ARN, BLN2 Routers, Passport 8600
Routing Switches and Business Policy Switches featuring Traffic Shaping
using DiffServ Queue Management, Protocol Priority Queuing and 802.1Q
Support for QoS. The solution also utilizes Nortel Network’s Optivity
Network Management System. The Diversified Network’s
solution also preserves and enhances ADA’s existing investment in
LAN’s, Avaya’s DEFINITY ProLogix’s and MCK EXTender 6000 products.
Future network expansion, contraction and IP applications are
simplified as well. The network rollout is being
performed by Diversified Networks. The
rollout completion is scheduled for March 2002. Diversified Networks provides
enterprise solutions to businesses with wide area networks.
