Diversified
Networks Successfully Completed North Slope Borough’s Upgrade From
Release 19 to Release 25.40, Meridian Mail to Call Pilot and Added
Station-Side IP Capability to Their Meridian Option 61C
BRAINERD-Oct 7, 2003--Diversified
Networks (Privately Held) announced the
completion of the upgrades to North Slope
Borough’s Meridian Option 61C in
Barrow Alaska. This Meridian System is believed to be the northern most
Meridian System in the United States and possibly the world. Barrow Alaska
is located on the Arctic Ocean on the northern most point in Alaska (71.20
North, 156.00 West). Among other things the Option 61C runs the city of
Barrow.
The first phase of the
installation involved staging, programming and testing the new processors
and software in the Diversified Network lab in Chanhassen, Minnesota. The
second stage involved shipping the tested components of the new
system to Barrow Alaska. The final phase involved flying Diversified’s
technicians to Barrow to complete the installation early Sunday morning.
Diversified’s approach minimized the risk and down time for North
Slope Borough.
